Mine has a 28XX lb curb weight, but there is a whole lot of weight that could be saved by doing some simple things. Basically remove the power locks, windows, mirrors, and get a carbon fiber hood and hatch. You would definitely be under 2700 lbs. Not to mention the ridiculously heavy seats that basically have every single adjustment on the earth.

I belive the l28 turbo in a 240z would be the best. 240z's are super light you need to be small to fit in the buckets. I used to have a 1971 240z with a swapped L28et... the dashboards were the best feature. around 1975 the z cars got really heavy with saftey equip. 240z's are the #$%#in shiz!nats. Good luck finding one that isn't less than %50 rotted out.

Hmm...I hadn't considered the S12...but man, where would you find one?

I'm surprised the Cressida is that light...it looks like a porker

Around 2800, but it's not that hard to shed 100lbs, or add more hp

I'm pretty sure you could find a non-GL model that weighs less than 2700 lbs.

yea, 2355lbs dry weight. 260Z is 2425, and 280Z 2825.

stripping any of them down would surely reduce their weight atleast a couple hundred lbs.

also, late 70's, early 80's celica's were RWD. i don't know about the curb weight though.

the 2 seater would be right at 2700 or so. The l28 is a pretty heavy motor. Swap in something aluminum, and you've lost a lot of weight.

Nobody mentioned ae86 yet?

Don't forget triumphs and mg's as well.
aw11 mr2 and fiero, but thats mid engine, with a transaxle.
datsun 210, 510, 610

all i can think of at the moment
