Undeposited Cheque
Long story short, I found a cheque dated Dec '07 from a previous employer that I never ended up depositing. What would you guys do? I still frequent the place from time to time to see what's new, so I'm not on bad terms or anything.
I believe cheque's are only good for 6 months, correct?

I once took a bullet right in the cojones just to prove how tough I am, but the bullet ricocheted off of a pube and shot some kid in the face. I almost felt sorry for the kid, but he had it coming. Nobody can step to my nuts. My ex-girlfriend was bitching at me one day, so I tossed my nuts at her. BAM. Knocked the bitch out cold. The best teabagging she ever received, and I wasn't even trying.

Correct, the cheque is stale dated. Banks should not cash a 6 month old cheque but some do slip through the cracks. If they won't cash it, and you deposited it in the ATM, you won't get that cheque back. I would just contact that business and ask them to issue you a new one.

Yea just call up your old boss and ask to see him about it and let him see that you indeed still have the cheque and they may scratch you a new cheque on the spot, don't be surprised if the guy wants to keep the old cheque or writes void on it or rips it up. lol

How much is it for? If it's any significant amount I'd ask them for a new cheque. Personally, if it was under $100 I would just cut my losses.

If you're on good terms doesn't hurt to ask, but I'm guessing since you never cashed it, it's not a significant amount, so it's up to you. You could bring it up in passing, see how they respond.

If not on good terms do this.....
just take it to moneymart they will cash anything, if they dont get the money from your old employer they will sue them, just like when you cash in a canceled check they will sue whom ever issued the check, and win.

Money mart won't cash a stale dated cheque, and if they did they would not win if they sued your old employer... Same with a canceled cheque. That is money marts problem for cashing an invalid cheque.
